Who Will Win the Chili Bowl Trophy?
We are excited about our 3rd annual Chili Cook-off on Sunday, November 4! Our plan is to be outdoors and “tailgate.” The fellowship that comes with being with everyone at an outdoor event like this is something the entire family can enjoy. Judges will determine who wins the Chili Bowl Trophy and the winner keeps the trophy for one year. We are asking each group to have enough chili for their group plus more, as guests will be present. There will also be a bubble table, hoola-hoops, kites and outdoor chalk for the kids. Please have everyone sign up who plans to bring a crockpot of chili, if they have not signed up yet, and place the list back in the Small Group folder.
Please inform your group of these main points:
You will need to tape your name to your crockpot and the chili must be already cooked when you arrive.
All Small Groups and Home Groups except the following, are to bring their crockpots to the kitchen where a team will receive them as early as 8 am to plug them in.
- Thomas: Kitchen outside the Lower Chapel
- Senay/Hess: Kitchen in the Student Area
- Adwell: Kitchen near Pastor Bill’s Office
For no charge, SV will grill hotdogs as well as supply water and soft drinks for all to enjoy. Chili cups, crackers, spoons and napkins will be on tables near the Hot Dog grill area for your group to get what you need. Anything extra desired to enhance one’s chili will need to be provided by the group.
Bring your own large serving spoon to serve the Chili.
Your Small Group Leader will have a map of your group’s designated spot in the parking lot. Your Leader will assign no more than 2 vehicles to be in your tailgating area. Bring your own tables and lawn chairs.
Thank you! It's going to be a great day!
