Disciple Now Volunteers
At this year’s Disciple Now, we are challenging students to pursue a living faith - a faith that is their own, not what their parents’ desire for them, one that stands out from the world, and one that isn’t ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
In order for DNow weekend to take place, we need a myriad of volunteers. We’re trusting that God will provide exactly what we need and that He will accomplish what He desires to accomplish in this weekend. But my question for you is this… Is he leading you to serve in a big way in order to make this weekend happen?
We have several places to serve, but the most pressing need is host homes. Host homes:
- Provide lodging for a group of 6-12 students, along with an adult or college-aged small group leader, on Friday and Saturday night.
- We provide all the food for the weekend; we just ask that host homes set it out for students during meals.
- They also provide transportation so that their group of students arrives at their scheduled events throughout the weekend (worship services, amazing race, etc.)
There are certainly some challenges that could arise by inviting a group of teenagers into your home, I will concede this much. But would you first consider with me the reward? This weekend is one that many students look forward to because of the time spent with friends, the fun they are able to have and, most importantly, the way in which they expect their faith to be challenged.
Would you consider opening up your home to some of our SV Students? If you have a preference on age/gender, we certainly will work with you. We would love to partner with you in igniting a living faith in our SV Students and seeing how God will use them to reach the nations!
If this interests you, contact me by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (270.765.7822). The dates are February 27-March 1.
