Sending Our Kids On Mission Trips

Sending Our Kids On Mission Trips

Today our kids, Chris and Amanda, are flying to Nepal on a mission trip. They will return May 21st. They are going with their church, Sojourn Church in Louisville, KY. The team will be sharing the Gospel, building relationships, working primarily with pastors and also families in Kathmandu and surrounding villages.

This is a very unique trip in that many who are going are entire families. The women will be sharing Christ with other ladies while building relationships with them and their children. Many of the children are preschool and grade school age.

They left this morning at 6:15am and will arrive at 3:55pm tomorrow. It's a 23hr flight without delays. (They are already delayed in Philadelphia)

As you can see from the Joshua Project information on religions, Nepal is a very unbelieving country, only 0.9% profess to be Christian: https://joshuaproject.net/countries/NP

Would you join with us as we pray for these things:

  • Flights, baggage, etc.
  • No problems with customs
  • Boldness in sharing their faith
  • Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit leading them
  • Openness to Gospel for those they will be meeting and working
  • Protection from sickness, spiritual warfare, things they see and experience

Being a father, I want to pray for safety. But, God is teaching me that my concern needs to be more for their BOLDNESS in sharing the Gospel and the OPENNESS of those to whom they are going to serve to the Gospel.

As you can see, Sara and I totally understand the feeling of sending our children to foreign countries on mission trips. Our kids have been all over the US and also to these foreign countries: Mexico, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Russia, Belgium, South Africa, Africa and many more. Our hearts are full because of how God is using them to share the Gospel to those who do not know Him.

Thanks for praying!

Jeff Wilson
