Milestones are moments in life to stop, slow down, and look back on how faithful God has been.
A huge milestone in the life of a teenager is their high school graduation. After a teenager graduates high school he is catapulted into the real world and life doesn’t slow down. It is very common for teenagers to graduate high school and stop going to church. The teenagers in our church need the grace of God and the prayers of the church to come alongside them as they go off to college. As a church we need to covenant to pray for our graduating seniors. They are the next generation and we need to pray for them as they contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints (Jude 3).
At Severns Valley we want to celebrate God’s faithfulness to each of the high school seniors in our congregation.
On May 22nd, we will have Senior Recognition Sunday. We are going to take time and recognize each senior as they walk across the stage.
If you are a high school senior and would like to be recognized (or you are reading this and have a high school senior in your home and would like him or her to be recognized), please email Alexis McDowell (email@example.com) no later than May 15th:
- your full name
- parents names
- high school you attend
- future plans
- and a senior pic
I look forward to recognizing all of the graduates on May 22nd!
